Books, tax and client work in one desk
gsk OneDesk is an accounting and client portal service for accounting firms and the businesses they look after. A firm keeps every client's books, tax work and deadlines in one place, and each client sees their own records, documents and requests in a portal built for the phone.
What it does
- Bookkeeping and reports: double-entry books in any currency, bank statements matched line by line, and the profit and loss, balance sheet and tax reports a business needs.
- Invoices, bills and quotes: raise invoices from a computer or a phone, record bills, and send tax invoices that follow Sri Lankan VAT rules.
- Bank alerts: a bank's SMS or email alerts become draft transactions waiting for a check, so books stay current without typing.
- Client portal: clients upload documents, answer their accountant's requests, approve what needs approving and follow the jobs being done for them.
- Practice work board: every job, deadline and reviewer in the firm on one board, with the conversation and emails for a job kept on the job.
- Email from your own mailbox: staff can connect their Microsoft 365 or Gmail mailbox so the emails they write to a client from a job go out from their own address and name.
How gsk OneDesk uses a connected Google account
A staff member may connect their Gmail account from their signature page. With that permission, gsk OneDesk does one thing: when they write an email to a client from a job and press Send email, it sends that email through their Gmail account so it comes from their own address and sits in their Sent folder. It asks only for the permission to send. It does not read, search, change or delete anything in the mailbox, and it keeps nothing from Google beyond the connected address, the account's display name and the key needed to send, which is deleted the moment the person disconnects. A copy of each email sent stays on the job, as with every email the service sends.
gsk OneDesk's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. The privacy policy says what is collected, why, and how to have it removed.
Who runs it
gsk OneDesk is built and run by GSK Partners, a chartered accounting practice in Mount Lavinia, Sri Lanka, for its own clients and for other accounting firms. Write to accounting@gskpartners.io to ask about an account.
